ICDE provides scholarship opportunities to students who have an interest in one of the fields in communication design, including print-based graphic design such as collateral design, branding, identity systems, annual reports, posters, entertainment arts posters, logo design, infographics, book and magazine design, and package design; apparel design such as t-shirts, branding and apparel packaging; screen-based design such as websites, smart devices, responsive, and optimized design including user experience and design analytics and diagnostics; environmental graphic design such as branding and corporate 3D environments, digital signage systems, environmental graphics, exhibition design, and interactive environments; and motion graphics such as graphic animation, kinetic typography, motion identity systems, motion graphics for smart devices, and movie titles.
ICDE scholarships and sponsored GoFundMe campaigns are awarded to students who demonstrate a financial need and an acute interest in and talent for communication design. The application process is the same for both programs. Scholarships are awarded annually, whereas the GoFundMe Campaigns awards are distributed when these campaigns have reached their monetary target. Students must provide proof of college or university enrollment in communication design programs.
The visual assessment process (portfolio review) is the same for both programs and is unique to ICDE. These processes evaluate a candidate’s potential, be it a high school student or someone who is already at university. High school students will be judged against their peers, and not university students.
